CHP Rental-as-a-Service

Rent a CHP unit to power your business with no long-term commitments

Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units deliver significant commercial benefits – including up to 40% cost savings, compared to traditional energy supply and heating alternatives. 

Yet as organisations navigate the net zero transition, finding the right balance between cost and carbon targets is critical. It’s important that organisations can retain the cost savings that are delivered by CHP; but committing to a 15-year CHP contract may not be feasible. 

How CHP Rental-as-a-Service works

Our CHP Rental-as-a-Service financing option allows you to rent a CHP unit for a shorter time period – typically 5 years. There are two parts to the agreement: 

  • You’ll pay a pence per kWh (p/kWh) tariff for the electricity that’s generated by the unit. 
  • You'll also pay a fee for our 5 year Premier Plus Operations and Maintenance contract, giving you peace of mind that your CHP unit will be running at maximum efficiency for the duration of the contract. 

There will be no upfront capital costs and the heat that's generated by the CHP will be provided for free. 

Unlike many other financing options, there are no minimum generation obligations, so you won’t be charged for under-usage. You can use the CHP as much or as little as your organisation needs, as your energy strategy evolves.

  • Keen to have the flexibility to explore other energy generation technologies alongside CHP, without any significant contractual issues 
  • Unsure of your future CHP usage, and eager to avoid under-usage charges
  • Limited time remaining on your property lease
  • Unable to explore other longer-term funding options, for financial reasons.
