Centrica at London Tech Week 2017

In June, Centrica sponsored the Innovation stream at London Tech Week 2017.

London Tech Week is a festival of live events across the city, showcasing and celebrating the best of tech. It aims to fuel innovation and strengthen London’s status as a global tech powerhouse.

It provided a major opportunity to engage with leading tech influencers and organisations, and showcase Centrica’s technology credentials.

Centrica was involved in a range of events. These included Mike Young, Group Chief Information Officer, being interviewed by TechTV and delivering a keynote speech at the Leaders In Tech Summit.

The Summit is a cornerstone event of London Tech Week, bringing together leaders and C-suite level executives - from scale-ups to tech giants - working in converging and contrasting areas of the digital industry. This year’s programme focused on ‘harnessing innovation for global competitiveness,’ from the external context that is needed to foster great tech businesses through to the emerging technologies that leaders need to adopt to stay ahead.

Centrica also hosted a summit which explored the theme: ‘The Future of Our Connected World.’ The Future of our Connected World brought together digital leaders from the public and private sector to debate the role that technology and innovation have in solving challenges for our urban environments. The event was chaired by Oliver Franklin-Wallis, Commissioning Editor, Wired UK, and speakers included the RT Hon Matt Hancock MP, Minister of State for Digital and Culture, and Nina Bhatia, Managing Director, Centrica Connected Home.
